Our seemingly popular external wastegates control the boost pressure produced by a turbocharger by diverting a portion of exhaust gases away from the turbine, preventing excessive boost and protecting the engine from damage, essentially allowing for more precise boost regulation - especially in high-power applications. They offer greater control over boost pressure compared to internal wastegates, allowing for more precise tuning and higher power outputs.
